Great Rail and Ferry journeys of Europe and the UK is designed to showcase the ferries and trains of Europe and UK which have operated over many a year. Some of the vessels and trains highlighted sadly no longer operate.

Being a public transport professional, I have always had a strong interest in ferries and railways and this site provides a photographic record of travels over the years. It provides a synopsis of how travel by rail and sea has changed over the years within Europe and the UK.

The site highlights the destinations served by these ferries and trains over the years. This captures the cultural highlights of the cities and some of the quirks seen along the way. The focus of the photos will be on Central, Northern Europe and the UK.

The journey by rail and sea is part of the experience, just as much as the destinations themselves!

The site will be split into three themes of ferries, trains and destinations. This will be expanded over time when new content is acquired from travels!

Photos taken, used on my site are by a selection of DSLRs and high end mobile phones from over the years. As mobile phone photography has improved a shift towards this has occurred.
